Milano, 27 November 2018 – Today, Maire Tecnimont and ENEA, the National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development, signed an agreement to jointly develop technological initiatives for energy transition. The signing took place during the “NextChem - Maire Tecnimont for Innovation” event, held at the Group’s premises in Milan.

According to the agreement, Maire Tecnimont and ENEA will carry out projects in the field of green chemistry and circular economy, with particular reference to the recycling of plastics, enabling production processes to be more efficient, environmentally friendly, and innovative. Furthermore, Maire Tecnimont ed ENEA will closely work together to promote scientific and entrepreneurial culture, through the realization of an international network and the organization of institutional events. The agreement also foresees that Maire Tecnimont and ENEA will collaborate in the renewable energy sector, with particular focus on the Concentrated Thermodynamic Solar Power sector, in which ENEA and the Maire Tecnimont Group have already worked together successfully, with the realization of the MATS power plant in Egypt.

Moreover, this collaboration marks another step towards our three-year plan’s target: to increase the 'direct' transfer to companies of the research results of our Agency, in order to promote the growth and development of the entire Country", added ENEA President Federico Testa.
