Personal data protection for MAIRE

On the 27th of April 2016, the European Union approved the "General Data Protection Regulation" ("GDPR" or the "Regulation"), directly applicable in member states. The Regulation replaces Directive 95/46/EC ("Data Protection Directive"), and its application becomes mandatory starting from the 25th of May 2018.

During its activities, the MAIRE group collects personal data relating to its own persons and third parties, which it undertakes to process in accordance with the fundamental rights and freedoms and the dignity of the data subjects, as provided for by the laws and regulations in force. Specifically, organizational, and technical measures are adopted and implemented to ensure the confidentiality and security of personal data, as well as regulatory compliance.

How to exercise your rights and/or request information on processing

The applicable legislation (see Art. 12 to 15 of GDPR) recognizes several rights, which are listed below:

  • right of access: to obtain information about the processing of your personal data by us and obtain a copy of it;
  • right of rectification: if you believe that your personal data is incorrect, not up-to-date or incomplete, you can ask us to correct or supplement it;
  • right to erasure: if there are no rules that require us to keep your personal data, you can request us to delete it;
  • right to restriction: if there is a specific reason among those provided by the law, you can ask us to limit the processing of your data to specific purposes;
  • right to object: you can ask us to no longer process your data for those purposes that are based on our legitimate interest. In this case, having assessed your request, we will inform you if we can accept it or if there are prevailing reasons that allow us to continue to carry out such processing;
  • right to data portability: you have the right to receive or obtain that your personal data be transmitted by us to another person indicated by you (if technically possible);
  • right of withdraw: you can withdraw the consent you have given us;
  • complaint: if you are not satisfied, you can write to the Data Protection Authority or use other means of protection provided by applicable law.
