For us, innovation is closely linked to economic and social well-being. We are committed to developing innovation by making it increasingly open and interconnected with the external ecosystem, valuing its contribution to the well-being and progress of humanity. For us, this means developing the three strands of technological innovation (process engineering, digitalization, innovation in EPC) so that it increasingly contributes to not only technological and industrial progress but also to social progress, reducing environmental impacts and contributing to the path towards decarbonization. It means promoting open innovation platforms and ecosystems that support innovation and the world of start-ups, as well as supporting the development of skills in universities with a training plan for energy transition specialists, with the aim of incubating young talents with a path of high-intensity innovation. Innovation is in our DNA, even when we talk about digitalization of processes: this is where we stand out, and it has allowed us to be ready for the pandemic, able to continue to manage people, teams, projects, inspections, controls, remotely around the world. The continuous development of our digital infrastructure is one of our goals.
Environmental and social sustainability calls for innovation, before anything else: technological and organizational innovation, but also human knowledge. This is even more true for the ecological and energy transition, which requires the search for new forms and sources of energy, a rethinking of the way we produce goods in every industrial sector, and of the way we transport, consume, and recover materials and molecules at the end of the life cycle of products and industrial goods.
At Maire Tecnimont, we believe we can make a contribution. Being enablers of this paradigm shift means playing the role not only of engineering developers, but also of project developers, from the technological idea to project financing schemes, through the activation of partnerships, engineering development, the creation of governance, implementation, and management participation. Companies must work together: creating supply chain agreements, and carrying out joint research and study platforms.

For us, this means developing an approach to technological innovation along three lines: process engineering, digitalization, and innovation in EPC. Our goal is to create innovation that increasingly contributes to technological and industrial progress as well as social progress, reducing environmental impacts and contributing to the path towards decarbonization. It also means, secondly, promoting open innovation platforms and ecosystems that support innovation and the world of start-ups.
Along the same lines, we support the development of skills in universities with a training plan for energy transition specialists. Here the objective is to incubate young talents with a path of high-intensity innovation. In this field, we aim to create international best practices of synergies between universities and business because we believe that this is an enabling factor for long-term growth.
