Milan, 16 December 2013 – Maire Tecnimont S.p.A. announces that new awards mainly related to Engineering and Procurement (EP) have been granted to its main subsidiaries, for a total value of approximately USD926 million (€674 MN), in line with the Group’s derisking strategy.

Tecnimont S.p.A., in consortium with Construtora Norberto Odebrecht S.A and Ingenieria Estrella S.R.L., has been awarded the Punta Catalinaproject in the Dominican Republic. The project relates to the realization of an industrial complex of strategic importance for the Country’s development (a coal-fired thermal plant, an offshore terminal, and other associated facilities). The Client is CDEEE, the Dominican Republic’s state energy holding, and the overall contract value is equal to approximately USD1,945 million, out of which about USD690 million (€502 MN) relates to the Maire Tecnimont Group. Tecnimont, as strategic technology partner, will execute Engineering services and Procurement for the power block, air quality treatment system and control system, along with Commissioning Services. Completion is expected by the second half of 2017. The leadership of the project will be carried out by Construtora Norberto Odebrecht S.A, the largest Engineering & Construction company in Latin America and part of the Odebrecht Group, a Brazilian conglomerate consisting of diversified businesses. Construtora Norberto Odebrecht S.A. will execute the overall Construction, Procurement for the balance of plant and Engineering and Procurement for the coal terminal, seawater intake system and jetty. Such award confirms the Group’s selective strategy in the Power Sector, focused on technological alliances with strong construction partners and selective exposure on engineering services and EP (Engineering & Procurement) projects, leveraging on its

distinctive competencies.

Furthermore, several contracts have been awarded to Tecnimont, KT Kinetics Technology, Stamicarbon and Tecnimont Civil Construction, for a total amount of approximately USD236 million (€172 MN) for Licensing, Engineering and Procurement. These awards have been granted in Europe, North America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia, and confirm the Group’s growth strategy focused on a technology-driven business model. In particular, the Group reinforces its presence in Eastern Europe and in the Russian and Caspian Area (Romania, Belarus, Russian Federation and Azerbaijan) with several contracts related to Licensing and Engineering and Procurement, further consolidating the Group’s activities in such promising markets for the hydrocarbons downstream sector.

As far as the polyolefin segment is concerned, Tecnimont has been awarded a contract related to the engineering services for the Al Sejeel Petrochemical Complex (a project being jointly developed by Qatar Petroleum and Qatar Petrochemical Company), which will be built in Ras Laffan Industrial City in Qatar. Tecnimont will carry out the Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED). The project is designed to produce 2.2 million MTPA (Million Tons Per Annum) of polymers, including PE (polyethylene) and PP (polypropylene) resins, and represents a strategic investment for a large-scale expansion of the Qatari hydrocarbon processing industry. With this award the Group confirms its outstanding experience in Petrochemicals, and further expands the presence in Qatar focusing on an early involvement in the investment initiative with such a prestigious client.
