Saint Petersburg, 25 May 2018 – With reference to the already announced  EPC- contract €3.9 billion “package 3 - Utilities, Infrastructure & Offsite” AMURSKY Gas Processing Plant (AGPP) which Maire Tecnimont Group is executing in Svobodny (in the far eastern Amur region, Russian Federation) for JSC NIPIgaspererabotka (NIPIGas) – acting as general contractor in the interest of Gazprompererabotka Blagoveshchensk LLC, part of Gazprom Group, a very significant construction subcontract agreement has been signed during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), between Tecnimont Russia LLC (subsidiary of Tecnimont, part of Maire Tecnimont Group)  and the subcontractor Renaissance Heavy Industries (RHI). SPIEF is one of the leading annual international conferences dedicated to key economic issues facing Russia, emerging markets, and the world as a whole.

The amount of the subcontract is approximately €1.3 billion. The scope of work entails civil, structural, piping, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and pre-commissioning activities covering the major part of the construction works of “package 3 - Utilities, Infrastructure & Offsite”.

RHI is a one of the large international construction subcontractors specialized in construction services and EPC projects, with a strong track record in Russia. It is part of Rönesans Holding, an industrial group active in construction, real estate, investment, power generation, health and education.

The subcontract agreement was signed by Maire Tecnimont Group CEO Pierroberto Folgiero and RHI President Erman Ilicak, at the presence of Gazprom Group Chairman of the Board Alexey MillerNIPIGas CEO Boris LimMaire Tecnimont Chairman Fabrizio Di Amato and Italian Ambassador to Russia Pasquale Terracciano, along with other Russian and Italian officials.

Once completed, Amur GPP will be the largest gas processing plant in Russia and the second-biggest gas processing enterprise in the world. It will have the design capacity of 42 billion cubic meters of gas per year, representing an essential part of Gazprom’s technological supply chain of Russian natural gas to China.
