The Group is a leading provider of engineering and construction, technology and licensing services worldwide. The Group’s activities mainly focus on the design, engineering and construction of plants for the petrochemicals, oil and gas refining and fertilizer processing industries (core business). In petrochemicals we focus on polyethylene (LDPE, HDPE), polypropylene, PDH, in oil and gas refining we are leaders in hydrogen, syngas, sulphur recovery and tail gas treatment and in fertilizers we offer our expertise in urea, ammonia and nitric acid.

The Group is also active in a number of projects in Green Chemistry, aimed at lowering the impact of the fossil-based processes, improving waste recycling, and creating products based on Bio feedstock. The Group is also equipped to deliver large-scale renewable energy plants generating power from wind, solar, and biomass resources.

In the core business, the Group is active in the whole EPC value chain through a technology driven value proposition, offering a broad range of services on an individual or combined basis. The services offered by the Group include: (a) project development consultancy, engineering services, such as market research and feasibility studies, environmental impact assessments, design, preliminary engineering and detailed engineering; (b) procurement of materials and equipment; and (c) construction services, comprising project management and execution, commissioning and technical assistance for operation and maintenance after the start-up of operations on a life-cycle basis. The Group also provides proprietary or third-party technologies for the design and manufacture of plants in the three segments of the hydrocarbon sector (Oil & Gas Refining, Petrochemicals and Fertilizers).

In Green Chemistry, the Group acts as an operator, joint developer with industrial players, a traditional EPC or a technology licensor depending on the plant scale.  

The Group reports its financial data through two BU: Hydrocarbons (petrochemicals, oil and gas refining, fertilizers) and Green Energy (green chemistry and renewables).

The Group has a workforce of approximately 6,140 employees along with approximately 3,000 additional Electrical & Instrumentation professionals. The Group is present in 40 countries through approximately 50 operating companies.

Listed on the Milan Stock Exchange, the Group capitalizes 1.2 billion Euros. In 2018 the Group reported revenues of 3.6 billion Euros and a net income of 117 million Euros. The backlog stands at 6.6 billion Euros.
