Partnerships and Memberships

A Group's relationships determine the scope of its goals.

Public and private institutions are joining forces to work together to achieve development goals. Our role at Maire Tecnimont is to facilitate this convergence, promoting shared responsibility and the achievement of our goals. In particular, the focus is on innovation, education and sustainable economic growth.

Our memberships in various associations help us, in this sense, to maintain dynamic and proactive relationships with our stakeholders, as well as to share best practices with our peers.

To date, our Group actively participates in over 80 associations, including industry groups and business organizations, chambers of commerce, technical, national and international federations; as well as global organizations and related local entities, engaged in promoting the sustainability debate.

Partnership

Study of the thermodynamic behavior of natural gas with low CO2 content - École Nationale Supérieure des Mines, Paris, France
The project aims to analyze the thermodynamic properties of natural gas, with a focus on the production of liquefied natural gas (LNG), which is expected to play a major role in the energy transition to cleaner, low-carbon fuels.

Research project on the production of olefins from CO2 - Politecnico di Milano, Italy
This project aims to develop a new technology for the production of high-value chemicals, exploiting CO2 as a raw material. It will enable the exploitation of CO2 as a carbon-based feedstock, while reducing emissions and carbon footprint compared to conventional technologies.

Supporting the Education of Local Students - Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS), Azerbaijan
The development program, now in its fourth year, aims to sharpen participants' technical skills by involving them in practical engineering cases, and has enabled some students to become an integral part of the team at the Group's Azerbaijani subsidiary. Students are also offered soft skills and language courses.

Open Innovation Chair - Luiss Guido Carli University of Rome, Italy
The new Open Innovation Chair has been assigned to Professor Henry Chesbrough, Director of the Garwood Center for Corporate Innovation at the University of California at Berkeley. Professor Chesbrough is the intellectual father of the concept of "Open Innovation", which requires companies to combine their use of internal resources with external tools and technological expertise.

Energy solutions for sustainable development - University of Milan Bicocca/BHOS
Maire Tecnimont with the support of the Italian Embassy in Baku organized a course at the Baku Summer School in 2019 on renewable energy production, water resource management and recycling in agriculture and their role in the circular economy, with particular attention to climate change and environmental issues.

Acceleration of green initiatives - MIND, Milan, Italy
Our Group is among the 10 founding companies of MIND (Milano Innovation District), a forum where all the players of the ecosystem - research institutes, companies, start-ups, incubators and accelerators - can converge and select the best opportunities. As a partner, we are working to create a hub for open innovation in green technologies.

Our Group has signed active collaboration agreements with several universities:

Campus Bio-Medico, Rome - Italy: thesis students

University of Salerno, Italy: postgraduate internships

Technical University of Eindhoven, TU/e - The Netherlands: PhDs, internship periods

University of Bologna "Alma Mater Studiorum", Italy: thesis writers

University of Rome "La Sapienza", Italy: thesis writers

Valore D: building an inclusive and gender-equal culture
In December 2020, Maire Tecnimont joined the group of over 200 companies in Italy that for over 10 years has been committed to gender balance and an inclusive culture in organizations. We are part of a network that works to put people at the center, to contribute to an integrated approach with a long-term vision, and to build value also thanks to the inclusion and enhancement of all types of diversity.

We joined Valore D shortly after we endorsed the Women's Empowerment Principles, set out by the UN Global Compact and UN Women, as part of our broad, multi-level commitment to gender equality.

Building Responsibly - United States

This new step will strengthen our daily commitment by taking it to the next level, allowing us to share expertise and experience with stakeholders and industry players, raising awareness of how essential it is to build with responsibility.
