The project, on a Lump Sum Turn-Key basis, was awarded for the execution of a new urea granulation plant, in addition to some related units.
The plant, with a production capacity of 2,000 tons per day, will use proprietary technology developed and owned by Yara, which allows also the production of special, sulphur enriched, urea grades.
Yara is the world’s largest fertilizer producer.
The Sluiskil site, located close to Antwerp with direct access to the North Sea, is one of the most important fertilizer production complexes in Europe.
It has also got a symbolic value to Tecnimont, since its predecessor Montecatini Group carried out its activities in The Netherlands in the very same site during the 60s and 70s.
